Las Hienas was founded in early 2023 as a counter-movement within the male-dominated music scene. They made their debut on International Women’s Day 2023 with a powerful concert featuring works by exclusively female composers. What began as an activist project has since grown into a unique and groundbreaking Latin band with soulful vocals and a groovy rhythm section. Bringing a fresh new sound to the Latin music scene, the band will perform at the Heerenhuys as a five-piece—this time featuring a male bassist—full of energy and passion!

Since their founding in 2023 in Rotterdam, they have already performed at major festivals in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Iceland, such as Días Latinos, the North Sea Jazz Festival, Karneval der Kulturen, the Riviera Latina Festival, and Cultural Nights Reykjavík. Their first EP, “Nuestro mundo” (Our World), was released in March 2026.
